Top 5 SITES

My top 5 sites are as follows

1. Watch The Simpsons
This is a website where they upload new and old episodes of simpsons, seasons 1 through 20. It contains most videos that are season 15 or above. The old episodes may sometimes be inactive. They are uploaded very quickly, right after a new episode is launched

2. Google
It is the best search engine, which I prefer over live search or Yahoo.

3. Youtube
Contains comedic shows, tutorials to computers, games, etc.

4. Wikipedia
A simple, easy to use encyclopedia with numerous amounts of articles. Very easy to use when doing a project.

5. EbGames
A game store. Has up to date information with latest games, and future releases.

These are my top 5 sites.

Brandon Crisp- Video Game Addiction?

Recently, this 15 year old boy got an addiction onto a video game called "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" on XBOX360.

After reading this article, I began to think about how technology plays a role in my life. A lot of my free time is spent on computer. Even though it is spent a lot on the computer, it doesn't not necessarily affect my life in a negative way. Meaning, it does not cause any issuses. Also, after reading this, I began to think about how many parents worldwide are blaming videogames for kid's addictions, such as this one. I think this is completely untrue. First of all, Call of duty is rated M for mature, 17+ year olds. Meaning, it was the parent's fault for buying it for his son. Nowadays, they don't let kids buy video games rated M or AO, without a proper ID. When I tried to buy the Orange Box at EB Games, they refused to sell it to me, >:(.

My parents usually just tell me to spend less time on the computer, but my marks in school is adequate or above average, so its' not a great issue.

This is my opinion on this article, video games, and how it affects my life.

Take your kids to work day?

Yesterday ,Nov 5th, Take your kids to work day.

The experience was boring, but it beat going to school.

Where I went was this nails & spa place. I t with my parents, and what I learned was how to take appointments on the computer, scheduling this, etc. There, after getting the gist of the learning, I spent half the time playing games and surfing the net, unfortuneately I didn't have time to work on my BTT blog. Personally, I don't see my self working a job like this in the future. I would rather get a job which mainly focuses on science and math; scientist, or engineer, etc. I would've liked to went a different work place such as the lab in UFT like Patrick, or RIM like Tony. This is because I prefer jobs that relate to technology and science. I am not sure how people behaved at the workplace I went to because I was not focused on the workers, but the games. Some skills that would be applicable in the work place would probably basic mathetmatics, and ability to make logical decisions in spacing time between appointments, etc.

This was my Take your kid to work day. The best thing about it was missing school (joking...)

Aliens, Hoaxes, still possible today?

http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/Orson-Welles-Iconic-War-Worlds/story.aspx?guid=%7B1F065248-4FFF-4DEE-8F7B-78FA99B1E385%7D

The following link talks of the simplicity of pulling off hoaxes 70 years ago. They manipulated the people's minds by spreading false, fabricated news of aliens invading. Now, will a hoax or prank such as this, be possible nowadays?

Well, first comparing our technological advanced between the 70 year period, we have a lot more knowledge of the world, and space. The infamous hoaxes 70 years ago talked of aliens invading earth, but I don't think this is possible today. This is because people are more educated nowadays. The term "alien" back then meant green blobs with far advanced technology. Nowadays, the term "alien" or "outer space life" means any life that is supported out of earth. Meaning, it can talk of microorganisms that live on mars that's too small to see. Furthermore, the over use of media on aliens, will probably cause such hoax nowaday to fail.

Although the speicifc hoax may not work, there are still many lies, and jokes that surf around the internet that have been getting a lot of attention. One I can think off my head is the

2012, december 21st, the end of the world, the apocolypse. This fabrication of information is similar to the one done 70 years ago, and it's been pretty popular. It speaks of the world's end, because the mayans thousands of years ago ended their calender on said date. They state they have predicted many actions done in our era, but their predictions were too vague. Although it is not proven, there are many people on the internet fearing for said date.

This is my opinion on hoaxes. There were many gullible people then, there are many gullible people now. But the hoaxes must change to fit in with the times.
